Le Groupe La Poste is standing with the Ukrainian population through a number of different initiatives carried out by all its entities.
The Retail Customers and Digital Services business unit is relaying UNICEF's appeals for donations through its internal media and to its customers. La Banque Postale is doing the same for the appeals for donations launched by the Red Cross and Secours Populaire. In total, tens of thousands of people can make a donation easily by clicking on labanquepostale.fr and in the near future laposte.fr.
La Poste is also offering free postage to humanitarian associations recognised as being of public interest for their donation campaigns for Ukraine until the end of April 2022.
Despite the closure of Ukrainian airspace, parcels are still being delivered. The parcels are forwarded to Poland and handed over to the Polish postal service, which in turn hands them over to the Ukrainian postal service.
Against this backdrop, and subject to changes in the situation, Colissimo is making its international network available to the Red Cross to deliver parcels or transport essential goods to the Ukrainian population free of charge.
La Banque Postale is also offering free transfers to Ukraine, including money transfers with Western Union.
For its part, La Poste Mobile has decided to offer its 2 million customers (with or without a fixed-term contract) free voice calls and text messages from France to Ukrainian landlines and mobile numbers. This free service started on 4 March 2022 and will continue throughout the month of March.
GeoPost, Le Groupe La Poste's International Parcel Network, does not have a subsidiary in Ukraine but is active in Russia and in all the countries bordering Ukraine. A huge surge of solidarity and local initiatives in each country, and in particular in Poland, is being organised to provide all possible practical help to the humanitarian associations on the ground.
GeoPost is also supporting NGOs working for the benefit of Ukrainian refugees. In practical terms, GeoPost will donate €1 million to the Red Cross and
€200,000 to the European Federation of Food Banks (FEBA). In addition, GeoPost is encouraging donations to FEBA through a dedicated web page and will double every euro donated up to a limit of €200k.
